Well it is
9:55pm
and day one of training camp is complete. I can’t believe it’s only been one
day, I feel like it’s at least been two or three. But before I get started on
training camp, let me just say that my flight came in last night on time and I
found my baggage and 2 of my world racer companions waiting for me by 10pm. Then
Kyle, Jeanette, and I waited for a 4th to arrive, who was also
supposed to be there by
8pm, but
ended up getting delayed. Becky T. arrived and found her luggage by
1:00am. We drove down—or maybe it’s up, I’m not
really sure—to
Gainesville in about
an hour and a half, getting us to camp by
2:30am.
I pretty much just rolled out my sleeping bag and mat and slept in my clothes.
I was exhausted! Then this morning, training camp started at 730am… so between
the last 2 night I’ve gotten about 7 hours of sleep. So it’s been a tiring day
to say the least. Mostly we’ve just been having seminars and some fun team
time. It’s great to finally meet some of the faces and voices that I’ve heard
over the past 4 months. I really like everybody and I’m excited to meet the
rest of the racers who I believe get here on Wednesday or Thursday. I don’t
know the next time I will be posting anything, we are going to be leaving to go
on a retreat for 1 or 2 nights tomorrow (Sunday). But just to recap, training camp
has been good so far. A lot of it hasn’t hit me yet, but I’m sure with time it
will. I’ll keep you all updated. Peace from the South!
