we returned this morning from a town about an hour away from lodwar where we spent monday-saturday with 40 youth kids from lodwar that were doing an outreach there. the town is eliye springs and its even smaller and more remote than lodwar. we spent mornings doing door to door evangelism in groups and then had crusades during the afternoon where we had open air meetings that consisted of praise and worship rigged out of a truck with a keyboard and 2 microphones and a generator. someone would give a message and then we would pray with people who came forward to accept Christ and pray for healing for others. nights would be revivals which looked similar to crusades. one night during a revival i had such a clear vision that this must be what heaven will be like: praising and worshiping our Father in three languages and dancing and rejoicing as if the poverty and desperation all around us does not matter anymore. it was a really powerful night for me. one night we showed the Jesus film in turkana language and that was pretty powerful for several of them. in between these times would be us ministering and encouraging the youth we were wtih, most of whom are in high school. the week was pretty tiring and hot, but it was good and sooo many people were reached. pray that the one pastor in the whole area will be able to keep up the connections that were made and that people would get plugged into the local church. last night we had worship with just our team and dunamis and it was another powerful time for me. i received a vision from God about 6 months ago of my team ( who i had no idea who it would be at the time but God did) passionately worshiping under an open african sky filled with the most amazing stars i’ve ever seen. last night i feel like the vision was a reality and it was an intimate moment for me. this vision was also confirming to a call kelly had for our team this month to really focus on worship and make it a priority everyday. when she said that at the beginning of the month i immediately thought of that vision and it was confirmation that our call is to worship this month, above any other ministry or expectation of us. this week we will be spread out in groups of 3 to stay with different pastors in the area to work with them and encourage their ministries and then we’ll meet back on thursday for our team christmas. thank you all so much for all the prayers and support!
Merry Christmas!
