This week I got to spend a lot more time at the children’s
home and I have already fallen in love! We know pretty little about these
children and it’s hard to learn more when many don’t speak much English, but
the little we know is enough to love them for a lifetime. Romel, who just
turned 11 on Friday, totally has my heart (well they all do, but he
especially!) He came to the children’s home about a year ago after he was found
in the streets, as were many other children who now live there. His father is in
prison for murdering his mother, all of which Romel witnessed. My heart breaks
for him and I cannot imagine the things he has seen and what his life was like
before coming to NFFCH (New Faith Family Children’s Home). All I know is that
now his life is so full of love and joy that one would never know he had such a
traumatic past. He is such a sweet, considerate child and desires love and
attention like crazy, as do all of the other children. I am so glad there are
people here in Malaybalay who care about pouring into the lives of children no
one else wants and letting them know that God has a plan for their lives.
It is such a joy to help build their new home, especially when we know all the
love and prayers that are going into the foundation and the excitement the
children have when they come to visit the construction site and see the
progress. They have gone through so much yet they are still hopeful and still
have so much love to give, thanks to Jesus and His restoration. Please pray for
these children. Pray that we will never run out of Jesus’ love for them. Pray
that those who are able to be adopted would be, if it’s God’s will for them.
Pray that their new building is done with all the funds needed on time. I wish
I could post pictures of them but we’re still not getting enough of a
connection to do so… I’ll have them up as soon as possible though!
Much
Love!
