Good morning everyone!
Today is a great morning! I woke up around 7:00 when my alarm went off and Bandit, my dog, came over and licked my face. I thought I would sleep a little longer, but Bandit wanted to go out. So I got up and took him outside which got me out of bed for the day.
As I was getting ready for the day, I started to pray. (This is why I feel so wonderful this morning). I started my prayer by telling God that everything is His and giving it all back to Him. I have been having a hard time giving Him my time and I so I was giving Him his time back (it has never been mine to begin with). Then I started to think about some stuff that people have been telling me.
Recently, I have been hearing a lot of people say “You are not equipped to deal with people who have been raped” or “You can not raise $15,5000”. When I hear people say this I am initially upset because I feel like they are not in support of my ministry. However, yesterday, my boyfriend reminded me of a HUGE point. He said “these people are right, Christel. We cannot heal those who have been raped or children soldiers or raise $15,500. We are not called to do that”. He was reminding me that the person who does these things is God! It’s not us at all.
God is not calling us to heal these people or to raise this money by ourselves. He is calling us to be human and for Him to be God. This means that there is absolutely NO way we could ever do these things alone. We are called to trust and obey and to rely on His strength. As I was thinking about all of this this morning, I was reminded of this verse. “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength” Phillipians 4:13
We are called to be tools of God. Tools have to rely on someone else or something else to make them work. They can’t work on their own. They need strength from somewhere else. This is us. We are only tools who need strength from somewhere else. The only person who can give us that ultimate strength is God.
I have not been called to be God and to heal people. I have been called to be a human who is willing to be used as a tool. A tool for God’s Kingdom.
