It's kinda crazy how I got to this point in my life. It is amazing to me how God uses things in our lives to get us to where He wants us to be. I have been raised in a Christian home all of my life. Always went to church, went to a Christian high school and then I attended Lee University because I received a volleyball scholarship there. Through Lee, I was able to go to Ghana, Africa and complete my student teaching. Although it wasn't necessarily a mission trip, it felt like one. I have never fallen in love with a group of people or a place as much as I did with Ghana. I loved every sweaty, smelly moment I was able to spend there. When I got home from Ghana, I wanted to do more. People around me thought that I was just on a high from being in Africa… and maybe I was… but I still am. When you are around people that are happier than most American's and they have absolutely nothing, its hard to not want to go back. I began to realize how messed up we are with all our stuff. So here I am hoping, more alive and excited than I have ever felt before because I am about to go on another journey where I have nothing to focus on but how incredible our God is and how wonderfully made His children are.
