We left home donned in our red, white and blue
Gathering ingredients for our American meal was our only "to-do"
We crammed into a matatu and were on our way
Even an Arizona State fan came out to say hey
To "No No's" we went for all our shopping
Then we bought 2 chickens that were still alive and squawking
Brittney took charge and killed them both with bare hands
Then Nate dipped, battered and fried 'em in a pan
It wouldn't be the 4th of July without a ton of baked beans
Although Tanzanian children in the doorway was quite the new scene
The meal was a success and definitely hit the spot
Then we introduced the family to fireworks via The Sandlot
With Ben Franklin chocolate our night was almost complete
Add digestive crackers and marshmellows and we had a s'mores treat
AMERICA, AMERICA, home of the brave and the red, white and blue
