I can't even pretend to understand our nation's financial debt. I was only required to take one Econ class in college and it would take quite a large donation to my support account to persuade me to take another. While I don't know much about financial debt, the idea of spiritual debt has been weighing on my heart for awhile now.
In Romans 1:14-15 Paul says, "I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and unwise. So, as much as in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also."
Through these simple verses, Paul reveals the powerful truth that we are in debt to ALL nations. Not just to Kenya, or Thailand or the United States, but to the lost people of every nation. It is no small task and it will take time, but through discipleship God's army is growing and no person can afford to be untouched.
Even though my team chose the name "Kaleo" (meaning "called" in Greek), we are by no means the only people who are called to serve the nations. We are all in debt to our Father and His only request is that we spread the Gospel and give Him all the glory in return.
Here's the question I had to ask myself before committing to the World Race. "Is your life really that great that you would refuse to pay your debt to the One who was nailed to a cross and had God's wrath poured over him in exchange for our freedom?"……."Yeah, neither is mine."
