Earlier this morning I began reading some of my previous journal posts in my notebook, and one caught my attention. The post was in prayer form.
“Lord, keep working in me. Continue this good work that you’ve began in me. I love seeing your fingerprints in and on my life. Keep me far from laziness, and procrastination. Create in me a vivacious desire, and all consuming passion, to chase and crave deeper intimacy with you. Guide me, lead me, Father. Bring me to new depths of your love, deepen my understanding of what happened on the cross. Keep my wandering mind and spirit from turning away from you. Grant unto me consistent, persistent, persevering focus on you. Call me out of the boat, equip me to walk on water. Bring me into utter dependence on you, Abba.
Romans 8:19
For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.
I’m so prone to wander, yet you love me all the same. Thank you. May my life, thoughts, feelings, words, and actions scream and shout your glory. Rise up mightily Holy Spirit, take control of my life, I give you the reins. Do as only you can. I trust you, Father.
In Jesus name,
Amen.”
I wrote that March, 9th 2015. So this was written roughly a month before God laid it on my heart to once again pursue the World Race. And to think, here I am now, in Thailand and on the World Race. Our God is a God of answering prayer. I can confidently say that God is still in the process of fulfilling the very requests I prayed for in that journal post.
Isaiah 6:8
And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”
