This is officially my first blog post!  I’ve honestly been putting it off because it’s something I’m not accustomed to, and it’s difficult to be vulnerable with the world about what’s going on underneath the surface of my life.  However, I’m determined to become more open to sharing what God is doing in my life.

Just earlier this evening I was in the middle of studying for a summer school course and decided to take a brief break by getting up, stretching the legs, and getting some fresh air outside.  As I stood in my backyard and watched the last rays of the day fade on the horizon I was hit with a sweet, blissful stillness.  It was one of those moments when the fog of life subsided for just a moment, and I was instantly greeted with a reminder of why I’m on this earth.  It was as if I’ve been holding my breath for such a long time trying to stay ahead with the responsibilities I’ve been entrusted with, and all of a sudden I surface; take a huge breath.  Such sweet relief as I was reminded of how great our God is, and how he loves for us to delight ourselves in him.  That moment I experienced was a moment of delighting myself in his presence.  Oh if I would take time to do that every day.  It can be a game-changer when everything else seems to be crumbling around you, and the stress of life is weighing down on you.

I hope someone is encouraged by the experiences that will be shared on this blog.  First blog = DONE.  One of many many many more to come.
