We have been in the mountains of Peru for about two weeks now and it is truly amazing what the Lord has done thus far. We have been working in a small village of Musho high up in the Andes mountains with a base elevation of 10,000 ft. As we walk from village to village, sharing the love of Christ it is if we are walking in a painting. Beauty surrounds us with 22,000 ft peaks towering in the midst of some of the most breath taking scenery I have ever laid eyes upon. It is amazing to think that the God of the universe who created the heavens and the earth simply by speaking looks at us as the masterpiece of His creation. The same way we gaze upon the beauty of our surroundings, the Lord gazes down from heaven at the beauty he formed from his hands breathing life calling a people for his own. Grace extends from his sovereign hands which echoes freedom from Christ’s infinite mercy upon our lives. Sometimes when I listen close enough I can hear nature call out the name of the Lord.
As we have been sharing the love of Christ in the neighboring villages I am overwhelmed by the Lords love for them. The verse in Matthew talking of the harvest really resonates in my heart as I see people so hungry for the gospel. We walk into the villages and see people laboring in their fields bringing in the harvest and spiritually we are doing the same. Christ is claiming these people as his own and establishing his kingdom in this place and it’s truly mind blowing. The Lord is teaching all of us how to pick. He is teaching us how to labor, which ones to pick, how to pick them. The gardener is tending his vine daily and we get to be a part of his son Christ calling others into sustaining life. Pray daily the Lord build up his church. That he send more workers to this region to continue what he has started. To continually rebuild the walls of community and sustain his saints in Faith, Hope and Love
