I'm currently in Mobile, Alabama youth staffing for a youth conference. And, after much extensive and deeply VULNERABLE discussion among the whole youth and staff, I ran back to my room grabbed a box of cheeze-its and a diet coke, and ran outside to the most comfortable spot on University of Mobile's campus–some rocks underneath a rugged wooden cross.
I heard stories of my student's lives.
The sheer brokenness, the PAIN, the HURT, the SHAME and SORROW.
I was totally overwhelmed.
"I have come to give you life, and to give it to the full."
"How wide, and vast, and deep, and long is the love of God."
"MAKE. WAR. AGAINST. THE ENEMY."
I then got pissed. I legit haven't been this pissed at satan and his world full of lies since he tried to defeat my mom back in February. She passed away unexpectedly, and it WRECKED me.
For a little while, I thought darkness had won. I felt as though she had been defeated. I could feel the putrid smile of the evil one basking on me.
"Your momma isn't struggling anymore, she's safe in my arms. Satan couldn't hold her down."
Evil is freaking real yall. Whether it's the condition of our hearts, or just through the fallen world as a whole. It's real, and the enemy is after us: to kill, steal, and destroy.
All of these and more: FOREVER UNCONDITIONAL ULTIMATE AND UNENDING.
Christ looks upon our broken lives, and with open arms and a beautiful smile He invites us in regardless of where we've been, what we've done, or what's been done to us. His love is the only thing that satisfies and saves us. There's no more searching when we get Him–He's the thirst and hunger quencher of our souls.
The rugged wooden cross is our joy, Jesus' resurrection is our victory.
Satan's power over us has been defeated through Christ and He's kicking satan in the mouth once in for all when He comes again!
