i really do think Max might be Superman.
this guy does not stop. he was born and raised here in the Ukraine and at the age of of maybe 11 or 12, felt the enormous burden God placed on his heart to care for the orphans in his town that lived in loneliness and squalor. a boy himself, he grew to understand the best defense for social injustice is a great offense. Max milked all his educational opportunities and studied hard. these days, he is a lawyer and a very capable one. Max has since adopted 12 orphaned kids and counting and raised them as his own! some are not much younger than he is. oh, and Max is only 25 years old.
his vision and influence is wide and deep! Max is in the process of purchasing property, totaling $150,000, to create a large-scale transition home for orphans that age out of the system. these late teens pass abruptly into adulthood with new freedoms and no direction on how to use those freedoms wisely.
the building is not much to look at now. it’s two stories high and has a full basement. but just imagine: the top floor will be a dormitory and house up to 150 homeless teens and young moms. the ground floor will be a center of small businesses and vocational training. think like cosmetology, maybe some carpentry, and a peanut butter factory! innovative, right?! my heart is telling me YES! the basement is dark and gloomy but it will one day be pristine with new showers and other facilities to keep the whole home running smoothly. there is a large amount of land that surrounds the building and behind it stands the ruins of a really old building. the place is burned out and the foundation is a mess. however, its vaulted ceilings and big tall windows make it the perfect manifestion for a resurrected church. and the reality is the church will be the kids who fill it.
Max is centered on the truth that the yolk and burden of Jesus Christ is easy and light.
Jesus is the chief cornerstone on which all of Life hinges.
this is why Max is a prime example of an Unsung Hero.
