my mind, will and emotions have been wrapped up in
the quest for sushi for the past week.
tonight, that endeavor saw success when
Christine and I finally located Lima’s popular sushi lounge, Magma.
don’t get me wrong,
i could have easily settled for cheap, quick prepared sushi,
and believe me, that is all that I needed.
we searched for two days – lunch and dinner, it didn't matter.
this is due in part to both of us being led by our stomachs vs.
being diligently focused on navigating in a big city. first mistake.
the first recommendation that we got took us to an establishment with locked doors and windows plastered with signs of municipal foreclosure. no bueno. we told the hostel staff to nix that place off their list.
our last try started off rocky. this time, we even got the hostel staff to draw a fat black line to Magma so there would be no earthly way to miss it. somehow, i still led us the wrong way almost immediately after stepping foot out of the door! praise God both of us are not detered by minor hiccups! i am alreadly seeing a theme of unforeseen surprises when i do anything with Christine, which is awesome! it would have been easy to give up since it was dark out at 730PM and by the looks of the map, farther than either one of us had walked during the day. but remember, we are more than conquerors and were more than hungry.
the bottom line is this:
we located Magma!
fist-pumped in victory!
the prize: all-you-can-eat sushi.
finish the maki you start or pay for it.
being World Race women, don't stop ordering food until the Spirit says.

Christine and i ate 35 maki each!
even the waitress tried to talk us out of eating so much.
and yes, we sauntered out of there like queens and waddled all the way home!

i'm so glad God delights in seeing his girls happy.
