Trujillo, Peru.

That is where I am right now.

So, it is time for a brief update: Stories to come later. Right now, it is just facts.

Trujillo is a Pacific coastal town in the northwestern part of Peru. It is a desert climate, so it is a drastic change from the jungle environment I was in last month. (well, except for the one random rainstorm that occurred our first day here that led to it raining inside on our beds). We are one hour from the beach of Huanchaco- a popular surfing destination.

This month my entire squad of 60 people is staying in one location. The eight teams are rotating ministries on a weekly basis. This first week, my team (Reckless Pursuit) is working in a garbage village community. It has been physically and emotionally demanding, but absolutely beautiful. It is such an honor to enter into what the Lord is doing there. Next week, I am unsure of what we will be doing. Options include: construction, working in a daycare, street kid’s ministry, sand boarding ministry. More updates to come.

In addition, I (along with two of my wonderful squad mates- Jeffery & Alyssa Peck) have been asked to be Unsung Heroes Campaign Coordinators for N Squad. Here’s the scoop…

Unsung Hero (definition):
a person somewhere around the world who is unrecognized and tirelessly working for the Kingdom by loving  “the least of these.”

Unsung Hero Campaign:
identifying Unsung Heroes in order to honor them by telling their story and coming alongside them to help further God’s Kingdom here on this earth. (i.e. partnerships with future World Race teams).

Our leadership team will be vision casting, training, implementing, and logistically managing this campaign to the teams in our squad in order to empower them to embark upon this initiative. It will slightly change my Race since this is another ministry I am picking up. I will still be with my team and acting as Team Treasurer; however, I now have added responsibilities.

I am so very excited about this and what the Lord is doing. It will be a journey and a challenge, but it will be beautiful. Stay tuned for more information, as I cannot wait to share with you how you can be a part of this!!!

Much love to all of you! Ecuador photo blog to come once I stumble upon some solid internet.
