I was driving today. And as I was driving, I was thinking.
I was thinking of a moment my team and I had at training camp as we were in our first official "feedback" session. It involved a picture vision I had been given by the Lord about my teammate Alyssa. It was a word picture– from nature. Remembering that, I, in passing, asked the Lord: "What about my other teammates? How would You describe them using the same motif?"
Immediately, in quick succession, came word picture after word picture– each tied to a name.
Here's what's been given. Here's the best introduction I can give to my incredible team: Reckless Pursuit.

Alyssa: Ocean
Tranquil on the surface. Deep, powerful currents hovering unseen right below that
surface. You can stand on the ocean shore admiring the beauty of the waves, but
you must also always recognize the strength and power those waves hold.

Julie: Sunshine
A combination of bright light and radiant heat. Illuminating everything it comes into
contact with. You soak in the warmth of the rays. But, remember those rays of
sunshine are intense and powerful.

Katrina: Snowfall
Serene. Peaceful. Watching softly falling snow evokes wonder, contentment, and
tranquility. Then, that soft snowfall becomes a snow storm. Unleashed power.

Justin: Rain
A quenching of thirst. Refreshment and rejuvenation. A catalyst for growth. At
times, you find it restful and lulling. At others, a strong awakening. The power of
water is never to be ignored.

Nick: Quicksand
Light on the surface, unknown depths. At first, you don't recognize it. Then, in an
instant, you are surrounded, sinking, entrapped. Quicksand pulls you in, even when
you have yet to step foot upon it. Strong and powerful.

Mary: Stem/Trunk
Structural axes. Support. Conveyance. Stimulating growth. Upholds beauty.
When you look at a stem/trunk, you see incredible intricacies. A powerful
componant for life.

Chelsey: Soil
Nutrients. Layers. Power through what it contains.
So there we are. Team Reckless Pursuit.
Emblazened with POWER by the Lord Most HIgh.
Vessels engraven by His Hands.
Compelled by who He is.
It's the reckless pursuit of hearts– by the Living God.
It's the reckless pursuit of holiness– to be conformed into His image.
It's the reckless pursuit of of His people– through love, expectancy, and encounters.
