Thanksgiving is over in Vietnam, though I know it’s only getting started for my sweet family on the other side of the globe. Today has been a beautiful day and, if I can’t be home with them for Thanksgiving, there’s absolutely no place I’d rather be than here in Vietnam with my team.
Over the course of today, there’s a lot of things I’ve realized I’m thankful for. Maybe one day you can look back at my journals from today and see the full extent of all the things that popped into my head today and caused me to sing another song of gratitude.
I’m in Vietnam, y’all. I’m traveling the world for 11 months of my life, getting to tell people I meet about the greatest Story I know. I’ve been invited by the God of the universe to be a part of his story. I not only get to see places I thought I’d only dream about, but I get to pray over them and proclaim Jesus over them. I’m in community 24/7…and as hard as it is and as much as it sucks some days: I don’t get to get away with my crap. I have a family back home full of prayer warriors and encouragers who shows me what it means to be a family on mission. I have friends who know the exact moments to send an email, SnapChat or text.
There’s a lot to be thankful for. A lot.
All you beautiful Germans and Vietnamese friends who made Thanksgiving happen for us today: thank you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
To all of you who are praying and supporting us financially, thank you.
To the families and the friends who have sent us out, thank you.
To all you people in the AIM office who trained us, debrief us, do logistical magic for us and fight for us, thank you.
To the racers who have gone before us, blogged, and given us advice and encouragement without even knowing it, thank you.
Much love from Desiderio Domini. Enjoy!
