AFRICA! Wow, I can’t believe that we’re on to our third continent! The past two weeks we were serving with team Increase in Tema, Ghana. Our gracious hostess, Reverend Martha, was so good to us!  During our time in Tema we visited orphanages, evangelized in the fish market, prayed for and encouraged believers, shared testimonies, preached messages, and sang songs at nightly church services.

The Lord has been growing me, especially this month, to be bold and share what He has done in my life. I had the opportunity to share a more in depth testimony at one of the nightly church services. It can be so easy for me to forget all of the things that God has already done in my life, so it brought such joy and thanksgiving for me to be able to share it with others. The Lord IS at work. He IS alive and active. He DOES transform lives.

Our team arrived at our second ministry site near Accra, Ghana a few days ago. We have been doing a lot of evangelism around the city. I have really been learning that it is not my words, but the Holy Spirit in me that touches people. What a relief! Just yesterday we were ministering to people in a fishing city on the coast and Matthew led 4 men to Christ! God is so good and I just love how He uses us as His vessels.
I was also reminded last night of how the Lord has been at work in my life when Reverend Joseph said to the congregation, “Chelsea has prepared a song for us tonight”. Who me?!? I thought to myself. I quickly turned to my two teammates, Janna and DJ, and asked, or should I say told, them that they were coming up front to sing with me. We started to sing “Amazing Grace” and once again I was reminded that it’s not about me, but about God’s love and grace. I would have been so paralyzed by fear and insecurity in the past to ever sing in front of people. The joy of the Lord is now my source of strength.
