Well, I almost made it out of India without the dreaded “delhi belly” also known as “Indarrhea” But as the squad gathered together in Hyderabad for our month 5 debrief, I got hit and it sure did lay me out for a couple of days. But God is faithful and got me through it and my sweet U-squad family prayed over me countless times. Our coaches, Dave and Bernadette Fredricksz were with us from Holland along with Michael and Kathy Hindes and Sean Smith from our home office in Georgia. These five spirit-filled men and women of God poured into our squad and just loved on us for a few days. Sean and Michael spoke to the squad and challenged us in many ways. It was a great time of refreshing and a reminder of why we are here, why we are doing this crazy Race thing, and what it means to really bring the Kingdom in all we do. After 5 months of living in community it was a great reminder of why we do the things we do and an encouragement to press in to each other, to speak life, and to remember to speak to the treasure inside each other, calling one another to greatness. The beauty of community, and the messy part, is loving people enough to call them into a better place, loving someone enough not to let them stay the same. It’s tough and it takes high courage but it’s a beautiful thing when done right and I am so thankful for the people I have in my life who are constantly speaking into me and pouring love and life into me.
So, despite the Enemy’s attack on my body, the ridiculous heat of India in May, and crammed packed schedule for the Squeader’s through it all, Month 5 Debrief was a great time, a nice refreshment marking the middle of our Race!
