That’s right, my team and I have spent the last two weeks bar hopping in the name of Jesus. Friendships have been made, lunch dates have been planned, mass amounts of sprite, coke, and pinnapple juice have been consumed, crazy new forms of jenga have been learned, connect four skills have improved, and the love of Christ has been shared. It’s easy to look at the overwhelming number of bars, girls, and tourists, and think that we are insignificant and what we are doing is making no difference. But that is a lie of the enemy and I rebuke it in the name of Jesus! Because our time here has not been wasted. God’s word will not return void and the live’s of the girls we have connected with have been forever changed. It may seem insignificant when you look at the big picture, but to that one girl it is most significant.
There is an army here in Phuket working to bring the love and light of Christ to the men and women on this island. Right now in our house we have 7 teams with members from something like 8 different countries. So, as our time here is coming to an end, we can leave knowing that there are others here ready to take our place in the battle. And the darkness in Patong will not prevail against the army that God is sending to this island.
