We serve a great big God. How often I forget that, and over and over again He proves himself and rocks my world. Way back in May when I was first approved and knew that I would be going on the World Race, I shared the big news with my small group, and one of my leaders, Dani Wilson, said this, “How much do you have to raise, $15,000? You’ll be fully funded before you leave.” Ha!! My reaction to her words were to laugh them off and think, “That’d be nice, but not likely.”  I really kicked off my fundraising with a week of events in Grove, OK during the middle of July and the WR set up monthly goals for us to meet to stay on target for our support. These were our goals:

July 14, 2010 – $1,000
August 18, 2010 – $2,000
September 15, 2010 – $3,000
October 6, 2010 – $4,000
November 17, 2010 – $6,500
December 15, 2010 – $8,500

As most of you know, I spent most of the summer and beginning of the fall speaking at churches and holding fundraising events. Even with the events and the monthly supporters that were coming on board, I was still just barely meeting my monthly goals. After making the October goal of $4,000 I found myself stressing out a bit. I said to God, “Lord, I’ve been struggling to meet $1,000 goals all summer and now I have to have $2,500 this month and I’m going to be at Training Camp for two weekends, it’s impossible!” Ha! Well, my awesome Heavenly Father simply replied, “Impossible? That’s just the way I like it.”

The next weekend I had the privilege of sharing my trip with the “Flock that Rocks” at Family Life Fellowship in Amarillo. In one weekend God provided all that I needed for the entire month of October! Awesome. But he wasn’t done. Over the next week he provided a number of additional monthly supporters and a couple big donations which means that when I stepped on the plane bound for GA and training camp, I was FULLY FUNDED!!

Yeah, fully funded before training camp. See, our great God specializes in the impossible because when things are impossible for us to accomplish in our own power, God gets the glory.Mind you, my status of “fully funded” is dependent upon the faithfulness of my Lifeline Supporters to continue to send in their monthly support, but still, isn’t our God amazing?? I scoffed at the thought of being fully funded before Launch and he blew my mind and funded me before Training Camp. Whoa God.

So, thank you. Thank you for everyone who has prayed for me, keep it coming! Thank you to everyone who has supported or is supporting me, this is only the beginning, the real fun hasn’t even begun yet!

Now, if you are thinking, “Oh no! I wanted to give but haven’t gotten the chance!” You can still help!! I have 5 teammates that still need support! Would you consider supporting me but supporting them?
