I can’t believe I am already halfway through my first month on the World Race! Sometimes it is still crazy to me that I am actually here to begin with. I wish I could have updated you all sooner on how the month has been going so far but the lack of wifi at our house has made it challenging to post anything.
This month has been a wonderful adjustment and I’d be lying if I said it was all just rainbows and sunshine everyday. I have definitely had my ups and downs getting adjusted to being away from home and living in the middle of the rainforest during the rainy season here in Central America (it rains about 20 out of the 24 hours each day, nothing drys here). Even though some parts have been hard, I have no doubt that God is working in me in amazing ways and wants me to be here.
My team is absolutely amazing. God could not have blessed me with a more fun or supportive group of people to go through this journey with. We all compliment each other so well and pick each other up when the other is down. I believe we truly show a living example of what community looks like being the Body of Christ like Jesus calls the church to be.

What our week looks like is Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we work on Tony and Rosita’s (our hosts) farm. Doing a lot of manual labor such as building a sanctuary, digging holes to put a new fence in or creating a hiking trail through the rainforest. It’s a lot of hard work but also rewarding to see the progress we made in just the short amount of time we’ve been here. This work doing manual labor also gives us time as a group to get to know each other better which is my favorite part of it.

On Thursday we get our “rest day” and Friday is our “adventure day” so we get to do whatever we want with those two days off as our type of “weekend.” This past week we went to this beautiful river and got to swim and tube down it. The pictures don’t do it justice. It was a much needed relaxing adventure day off from work.

On Saturday’s we work in the different kids clubs around Tony and Rosita’s town. This can be anything from putting on a skit for them, teaching them songs, playing hand clapping games or playing them in soccer. It’s a lot of fun to interact with the little kids and see how joyful they are all the time. Then on Sunday we go to Church with Tony and Rosita and help out with the Sunday School class during the main Church service. I love interacting with little kids so having two days of ministry focused around that is really enjoyable for me.

On November 4th we head to our next country, Nicaragua. Please keep me in your prayers as God continues to work in and through me and as I continue to adjust to this work He has called me to do. I am only about $3,500 away from being fully funded which absolutely blows my mind! If you feel led to join me on this journey by donating to my trip I would really appreciate your generosity.
Thank you all so much for supporting me constantly and lifting me up in prayers. It means more than you know and is so appreciated!
I love you all!
