During this 5+ hour bus ride from the capital of Ecuador to the Amazon rain forest, I didn't want to sleep but I did by accident. Every time I opened my eyes I saw a glimpse of something from God I haven't before. I thought about putting my headphones in but I wanted to hear every noise of Ecuador I possibly could… which was mainly the bus sounding like it was dying every time it accelerated and gun shots from the movie Looper, but still.
In the span of 2 hours, I saw….
(keep in mind this was just when I opened my eyes in between napping, these are almost in the order I saw them in, and it was like COMPLETELY new scenery each time).
a farm
a waterfall
huge walls of mountains with no end
a slew of chickens
a tiny village in a valley
fog making it impossible to see a thing
so much forest, looking almost like something I'd see in America, until I saw the deepest gorge at the edge that went too far down to see
a downpour
sunshine
a truck whipping around around the steep mountains the same width as the bus I'm on (that's been treating the windy road as 1 lane)
electrical wires (it's a big deal)
a rundown house surrounded by nothing for miles but green–> clothes drying in the rain and a young girl carrying a bucket
a random 7X7ish shack surrounded by hills
a billboard for “Emergencia 911”
spray painted looking boulders
a sudden paved road (also a big deal)
1 man, 1 boy, about 30 cows
1 lone grave on a slight incline with a mountain behind it.
We don't have internet where we live, we had to travel to get it today. I have 5 blogs written but don't know when to post them… hold tight.
Our ministry site is amazing, more on that later!
