The chances of even one of these happening is ridiculously teensy weensy…. CHECK IT OUT:
It's a small world #1: I live an hour from BUFFALO, NY. In the Canada/Buffalo/a couple nearby states, there's this delicious cafe-fast-food-ish place called Tim Hortons. Tim Hortons supplies my favorite taste in the world: a french vanilla iced capp. I went there almost daily in high school, made trips in the middle of the night in college weekly (even if it was 45 minutes away), just stinkin' love the place. It was the last taste in my mouth leaving Buffalo and I hope it's the first back in the States…. so I arrive in the AMAZON RAIN FOREST and what's one of the first things I spot in my new home? A Tim Hortons coffee container.
It's a small world #2: Jim, a fulltime missionary who we work with every day, is fluent in Spanish and English and has taught us a lot about life, the jungle, and made us feel at home. He lived in America before moving to Ecuador. When he found out I live near Buffalo, he asked me if I knew where Olean, NY is. He is from Imporium, PA, 20-30ish minutes from Olean. I also live 20 minutes from Olean. A little over an hour apart….what????
It's a small world #3: Mark, the missionary contact for the Huaticocha mission school (the visionary, in charge, started this idea), lived 30 minutes from Nicole (my team leader) until he moved to Ecuador.
It's a small world #4: I told Mark I saw the video posted on the internet about the Huaticocha mission school. He told me a great guy who lives in Quito filmed it. I asked if his name is Wes. Wes and I went to the same college and I taught summer school with his wife this last year. I knew he moved to Quito and knew he films stuff, so I decided to ask just in case. WHAT!
It's a small world #5: Patty (a teammate) said woof after hearing some bad news. I asked her why she started saying that and said her friend from home, KATIE, says it all the time so she does now. I also say woof after hearing bad news because my friend from home, KATE, says it all the time. Haha.
Cool.
Pizzy.
