As mentioned in a previous blog, this month team Degel and team Genesis are in western Cape Town, South Africa working with New Hope Jeremiah Project. Jeremiah Project reaches out to kids and teenagers through after school activities like playing soccer and dancing. On Wednesdays there is a bible study. I would like to tell you about the people who keep this project going, Ma, Pa, and their daughter Mirna. This family has welcomed us with open arms and are letting us stay at their house for the month. Ma and Pa have four children but many, many more call them Ma and Pa. In the words of Mirna, their house is "forever full". This family is giving to us and to this neighborhood not out of their abundance but out of their trust that God will provide. Part of Pa's testimony is that finding work has been hard over the past four years for him. Sometimes for years at a time he has not been able to find work. Even during the times when he was not working God provided for this family and every Friday they gave a bowl of hot food to those in need in their community (which they continue to do). It is these type of ordinary radical Christ followers that the world needs more of. They saw a need in their own community and felt God calling them to do something about it. Please pray for the Haynes family, for their ministry with Jeremiah Project and that they would continue to trust in God to provide their needs.
Other prayer requests- There have been some deaths of family members of my squad mates. Please pray for those who lost their loved ones and their family members but also pray for our squad that we would show love to those who have lost someone. Satan does not like what I-squad is doing, plain and simple. Recently we have had attacks from the enemy in terms of sickness and division within teams. Please pray for Satan to be gone in Jesus name- there is no room for him here.
