Team Degel is in… South Africa! You are probably wondering, Chelsea why are you in S. Africa? Aren't you supposed to be in Zimbabwe or Botswana? We were scheduled to be in those countries and actually some of your squad is in those countries but God had plans for us to be in S. Africa. After staying in Johannasburg for a few days we are now in Pretoria.
We are helping out at an organization called People Upliftment, or Pop Up. They have many programs here from day care to life skills classes. We spent some time with our contact person here figuring out what our passions are and what we would like to do while we are here. I am slotted to help with the days care and I am excited. Many people in the group, my self included, are hoping to go out into the community and tell others about Jesus.
Our contact says that many people here say they are Christians but do not have a personal relationship with Him.
We have two weeks here at Pop Up and then off to the next place. Updates with pictures will be soon.
