The act of joining, blending or coalescing two or more things is called fusion. When the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin and regenerates our souls (new birth) we are joined into God’s church. In other words, we are fused into a body of people that believe the same Truth we have now come to believe.
The church is not a building or exclusive club. In the Greek language, the word “church” is ekklesia, it means “those that have been called out.” The “church” is made up of people that have been called out from the world. When the Holy Spirit breathes new life in us, we are fused to this church. This fusion spans across all languages, nations, backgrounds, and colors of skin. This means that we, as believers, belong to a HUGE family. It is our belief in Christ Jesus, His death, and resurrection that the Holy Spirit uses to fuse us together to be a part of something bigger and better—His church.
I am truly amazed at what the church of God does in a practical sense. The church is the revelation of God’s wisdom. It exemplifies the beautiful and ingenious mind of God. God has intricately designed everything perfectly. It didn’t occur to me until recently that it must have taken serious creativity to put this world together. If we were created in God’s image and we create things (art, music, technology) that require some degree of ingenious creativity, we are reflecting God’s creativity. Thus, God is extremely creative in how He has put His church together. He fuses people with different backgrounds, customs, languages, and colors to fulfill the mission of glorifying Him in all corners of the earth. No small task!
God loves His church as a groom loves his bride. God cares for, loves, and serves His church in anyway. Recently, I have come to love this bride called the church. I have personally felt the love of Christ through my brothers and sisters in my immediate church family. I am beyond ecstatic and, at times, overwhelmed by my church family’s love for the Lord and for me. Support raising is tough! Despite obstacles, the Lord has proved Himself faithful through my brothers and sisters. I praise God for conversations, meetings, text messages, emails, and ideas I have received from my immediate church family that have spurred me in this process of support raising. I am truly grateful for all of the support I have received from my faith family. I could not have asked for anything aside from this loving and supporting group of people to be fused to.
