Welcome to your wedding day – picture this with me.

A day you have been counting on, waiting for, dreaming of.
You dress in your finest dress, shimmering white and pure.

For the wedding has come and His bride has made herself ready.”          (Rev. 19:7)

You are minutes away from walking down the aisle to be united with your best friend. This man is the one you love, admire, think of, look up to, and want to be with forever. You tell each other deep secrets of life. He understands your weaknesses and knows your inner thoughts. He knows you more than you think. He encourages you to be more and walk into more of your greatness. He is someone you can’t image your life without. He is your night and shining armour.

He is waiting at the front and has been waiting for awhile. It is your choice to walk or even run into his arms.

In that day, declares the Lord, “you will call me, ‘my husband’ you will no longer call me ‘my master.” (Hosea 2:16)

You battle in your mind for a few minutes, about being with him forever and wonder what this means and wonder if it’s too late to change your mind but you quickly come back to your senses and realize there is no one else you want. Your heart is already His.

“The bride belongs to the Bridegroom. The friend who attends the Bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the Bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete. He must become greater, I must become less.” (John 3:29-30).

You begin to walk, you see Him, He sees you.
He looks at you with His gazing beautiful eyes like there is no one else in the room.

“You have stolen my heart, my bride, you have stolen my heart with one glance of your eye.”   (Song of Songs 4:9)

He is in love with you. He is deeply in love with you. Madly in love with you and wants you to be His. As you reach him you are captivated by these words,

“My lover is mine and I am his.”   (Song of Songs 2:16).

You are about to bear His name as yours and make an everlasting covenant. You see your name written in the book and realize it is official, the bridegroom and bride become one-united finally, as it was intended at the beginning.

“This is my lover, this my friend.” (Song of Songs 5:16)

The love of the Bridegroom for His bride, the bride for her Bridegroom.

“For the maker is your husband- The Lord Almighty is His name- the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer.” (Isaiah 54:5)

This pictures the wonderful union which exists between Christ and you. It is an Eternal Union. We are eternally united with Christ, our Heavenly Bridegroom.
Not even death will part us.

We have only taken a brief look at this Holy Union, the glorious relationship that is between Christ and you.

Ponder this;
is He your Bridegroom, and are you His bride?
Is He your Friend, and are you His companion?
Is He your King, and are you His loyal subject?

“The spirit of the bride says, “Come” and let him who hear say, “come!” whoever is thirsty, let him come, and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.”     (Rev 22:17)

God is calling us, to come and make Him our first love- our Bridegroom.
