Alright so for all of you who have been worried, I have made
it – alive and safe we arrived at NEW ZEALAND; Let me tell you it has been a
long journey to get here. After going to bed at 1am and rising at 4 am to leave
my parents, first making a stop at Tim Horton’s (Yes it was so worth it), we
(meaning a van load of my family and friends) drove through the boarder to
Seattle airport and I said my goodbyes (which was a lot harder then excepted)
and flew to Los Angeles. Arrived with my backpack (which is 47lb- I will be having
to downsize soon- yes already), greeting everyone. I thought to myself what was
I thinking? wearing jeans, sweater and a jacket, as sweat poured down my face –
that being said it was Hot! We stood around, which seemed to be for hours and
then finally boarded our flight at to NEW ZEALNAND! The 12 Hour flight was not
too bad; all you can watch T.V, movies, games, audio books and music right in
front of you with your own personal T.V. They gave us dinner and breakfast and
I even was able to sleep for 5 hours. Arriving at 6am on Tuesday ( we
skipped a whole day- 21 hours ahead I believe), we still had a 2 hours drive a
head of us, but we are now at our destination for a week before we move to our
ministry placements. I am living in my tent already- an early start, but I set
everything up and it is just like a very small room, very cozy!
New Zealand is just like you would see in pictures, very
green and bright, hills and just a beauty of nature that makes me stand in awe.
It is 35 C/95 F here so you can say it is hot, and this is the start of
summer.
I am still in shock I am across the world; really it is
still very surreal. I know I still have to let my family and friends go for the
year (I am truly blessed with each of them in my life) and hold onto God as he
takes me through this amazing journey. I have to let God take control of my
whole being and watch this adventure unfold and for God’s will to be done.
Please keep me in your prayers as I transition into this and
as it becomes more real I will not be home for 11 months but that I embrace
each thing before me. Also please know I still need $5000 to complete this
entire year and if you feel inclined please donate right here online.
I truly pray for you all, and trust God has his awesome love
and friendship embracing your life.
