I realized that soon I will no longer be able to type on a nice full sized keyboard. The thought is rather disturbing. I better blog while I can still type quickly and easily. Oh and here's a picture of my team.

I went to church yesterday and an old friend of mine Aaron Witte was preaching. He got up there and started to preach about the severity of God. It was a good sermon. Got really interesting about an hour into it. Good stories, good examples. Good sermon Aaron nice job. Anyway, God had been dealing with me about similar stuff involving holiness, anger, and other random things (eating way too much candy and drinking too much caffeine). One thing that he's brought to my attention is that the God of the old testament sure is angry a lot.
No one really likes the idea of an angry God. The church overall seems to focus on the love of God. Or in some churches the focus is on the power of God. I suspect that people shy away from discussing the righteous anger of God because it brings up bad memories of people's fathers. And since God is our heavenly father, the idea of an angry God and an angry father both go together fairly easily.
The issue here is that our God is slow to anger. But he most certainly will get angry. However, the anger is an anger that comes from being separated from us. It is more like a father giving a potential suitor a long speech about how his daughter needs to be back by 11PM and then chewing the guy out when he forgets. Seems perfectly acceptable to me.
It can also be a protective anger. Bears are the classical example. Here's a different idea. Think about a porcupine. They couldn't care less if you want to watch them eat or waddle around. Seriously you can almost pet them in the wild. They're like nature's hippies (Porcupine: Don't worry about a thing man. These bugs are awesome). But if you threaten them and they will show you a very calm, precise anger. God is the same way. He's perfectly fine with people watching you. Just make sure you're not getting pulled away from Him and everything will be good.
