This is my new team. Team Willow. From the left you have, me, Kim, Katy, Rachel, Alison, & Mark. The 4 girls were previously on the same team before their leader Courtney was raised up to a squad leader. Now Mark and I have the honor to join up with these awesome ladies and do some serious work for the Kingdom.
This is Rachel. She hails from NC. Let me clarify, she is actually one person. She is our new team leader and will be a great one at that. She’s a massage therapist back home (you don’t see me complaining). She also has a younger sister on our squad. I am blessed to a part of her team and can’t wait to see how God grows her into a strong leader for him.
This is Alison. She’s from Ohio (not an ohio state fan though, so I can breathe easier). She’s also a massage therapist (once again, don’t see me complaining too much). She is an amazing singer and we will both be trying to learn the guitar together. She has a real genuine and honest personality, and I look forward to her being my new Christian sister for the year.
Meet Katy (on the right). She, like so many others, is from the grand state of Texas. Katy has a bright personality and brings so much joy to the room. Also, she is incredible at all things artistic and takes simply amazing photos. So, start looking forward to reaping the benefits of her awesome photography abilities.
Say hello to Kim (on the left, i mean right). She also comes from the state of Texas. Kim already feels like a little sister to me and will bring a smile to your face from all her dance moves. She loves to read and just spend time with God in her own world.
Meet my main man Pastor Mark Dynamo (giving the word on the left). No, he’s really not a pastor, but he can give great little speeches and sermons. Just when you least expect it, Mark comes through and puts a smile on your face. I look forward to growing with him and learning from all the wisdom and experience that he has.
The name willow is inspired from a great Christian song and from a passage from Jeremiah 17:7-8, “
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose trust is the Lord.
He is like a tree planted by water,
that sends out its roots by the stream,
and does not fear when heat comes,
for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
Willow trees are normally planted near the water and have the ability to survive hurricane force winds, because their roots go so deep. We want to bear fruit for the Lord and we want our roots to grow deeper into the living water of Christ’s truth and love. I have also been prophesied over as a tree (random I know) several times, so the name just really fit for our team.
Malaysia is absolutely beautiful. We are located in Penang, Malaysia, and looking forward to growing united as a team as we do the Lord’s work this month. We are also working with another team (Fruit of the Groom) this month, as we will both mainly be working at a drop-in center that feeds and takes care of the homeless. We will also be doing some prayer walking and evangelizing among the streets of Penang.
Appreciate the prayers as always!
