Back in April, we our team helped a couple of scientists conduct research on the water quality in a village in Chichigalpa, Nicaragua. Below is the update on the project. This community has been exploited by Americans in the past because they are poor and disease ravaged. Those Americans took photgraphs to solicit money with the promise it would be for those families. That was 5 years ago and the people had not been seen since. It took a couple of years and many trips for us to gain their trust, but there is still work to do. I love these people. They are precious and hurting. So far I have managed to give them some hope, but the ilnesses have not stopped.
This is first phase of a three phase solution. A generous donor is doubling contributions received in January and the trip is scheduled in March to provide 80 families with water filters. Donations can be made at www.newsongnica.org with a note that it is for the water project.
