DIos Es Amor (God is Love)
If I had to pick a theme for this month, in what God has been revealing to me it would be “Dios Es Amor.” This has been a month of just seeking to know God and who he is and it always come back to his Love. It has been a month of letting God use me however he wants. A month of truely setting myself aside to be obedient and let his will be done even if it makes me feel un comfortable.
A month of revelation. Realizing that “GOD is LOVE,” and that because the holy spirit dwells within me that his Love does flow through me. That even when I dont realize he is using me he is. That when I dont know how to Love someone, He does.
A month of using the voice and many other gifts that he has blessed me with. Realizing that he Loves me so much that he has chosen me for this time. That he Loves me so much that he only asks that I worship him, that I serve him. Nothing else matters but my obedience to him. That I don’t have to do anything, that he is always working in me and through me. God has both shown me his love and used me to love this month. So I will just share some of the ways I have seen God’s Love this month.
This month I lived up on the side of a mountain here in Peru at around 11,000ft elevation, in a little village. Our amazing missionary contacts lived in a near by city. Upon arriving in Huancayo, they immediately took us in and Loved us. They blessed u with the opportuniy to take showers, to use their wireless, and to make a call home to our parents. They continued to bless us with amazing food. When we woke up our first morning and Billy and Laurie were in the kitchen making pancakes, I could have cried. Through out the month they blessed us with amazing conversation, prayer, and encouragement.
In the village we stayed with an amazing peruvian family who hosted us. Mama Alaba…I dont even think I can describe her in words. God shines so muh through her. Not only did she host us, but the top level of her house is used as the preschool/ministry room. She cooks for all the kids, the teachers, her family, and she cooked for us too. She litteraly has given up her life to further God’s Kingdom. She loves on veryone. If people in the village need anything from medical advice, to food, anything…they go to mama Alaba. She is such an example of God’s Love. She is such an example of what it means to give your life and everything you have to God.
I saw Gods Love:
-In the eyes of Julia, my friend who i met near a corn field. She and I would sit while her sheep did whatever sheep do…She can hardly hear and i only ever saw her 3 times. Those times though she would motion for me to sit with her and to pray.
-Through the touch and the testimony of a 78 year old women I met on our last day of ministry who was a new follower of christ. It was through her that God reminded me that there is no age limit on becomming a follower of christ.
-The Kuyay Tulpay Children, Families, and Ministry Team
-When I saw several Rainbows in the sky throughout this month…a double rainbow our first night…
-The friendships that were formed that were perfectly formed and created by God
-Shouting and declaring DIOS ES AMOR (God is Love) over all the valley with a 5 year old little girl
-Everymorning and all day long when I looked at all of gods creation around me
-When i was sick to my stomache about giving my testimony and God gave me the peace I needed and the words that I needed to say
-Divine Appointments
-Eating Lunch and having the opportunity to pray and hear the hearts of 3 amazing women of God, who God is now calling to further his Kingdom in other countries.
-When i could hardly breathe one night walking up the mountain and he got me there safely…
-Through the gifts and love from another team from the states…
-Alaba and her family (our host family)
-The Drum Family (our missionary contacts)
These are just some of the ways i saw God this month, I honestly could go on forever. I am learning to see God is everything, even the small things. This month God just really showed me that he is LOVE. He continues to reveal himself to me more and more each day.
