I have never felt unsafe while on the race until Malaysia. The weirdest part I felt safe there until I got to my contacts, the one place I should always feel safe. The first thing we saw when we got to where we were staying was fences. It made it look like a compond. All I could think was who are they keeping out or who are they keeping in. We were at a childrens home. It just seemed so odd to me. Then the very first day we went with one of the guys who works at the home to get some grocerys and to take one of my team mates to get her ankle checked out. He told us he did not have room for all of us to go. We all wanted to though so some of us offered to walk. He told us we could ride there with him and walk back, because he had to pick people up. So he would not have room on the way back. Me and two other team mates where at the grocery store and we noticed the rest of our team mates were across the street at the clinic. We went and said hi. During this time one of my team mates ran to the bakery next door to grab treats for all of us. While she was still in there the person who drove us told us it was time to go and we all needed to ride with him. We told him ok and that it would be just a second and our last team mate would be out. He said no we need to leave now, if she does not want to follow my rules than she can find her own way home. We said she can’t go home by herself we need to wait for her. He started telling everyone who was not in the car to get in. I jumped out of the car. One of my team mates and me went to the team mate we were waiting for and allowed out Team leader to talk to the man who was driving us. I went home that day feeling like our team leader was going to tell us to pack our bags that we were doing unsung. Which is were we look for new contacts. Thankfully as a team we decided to stay and spend a lot of time in prayer. We got to see hearts start to change and got to know some amazing people. Our team leader even got an applogie for what happened the first day. God can do amazing things if we allow him to. There were other things that happened that also made it hard. That was properly the hardest month I have had but the most rewarding and I would not change one thing.
