Let me tell you a story…
The other day a man here named Andreas came over as I was eating dinner in the kitchen. He was getting a bowl from the kitchen for water and asked if I wanted to see his horse. Of course I said yes and got up and followed him outside. His horse was tied up and Andreas brought it some water. The horse immediately turned and walked away.
As we watched this scene, we could not help but giggle. I then said, “the Lord has been teaching me a lot about patience”. I shared how Andreas was a picture of God to me. God knows what we need more than we do, He knows that we need water. Not only does God know we need water, but He brings it directly to our mouth. And so often we are exactly like the horse, we turn and walk away. But I have to believe that at times, God just can’t help but giggle at us too. Sometimes we do not realize that God is trying to give us something. But God knows, and eventually we will realize we are in need and we will go seeking for the water as well.
I am glad that despite my own ignorance, God is patient with me and continues to provide for me. He does not throw the water away when I turn my head, but allows me to come get what He has for me when I am ready.
