Last month, month one in Honduras, was a battle for me. It was a battle because I had come on the race with my focus and priority on investing in people, in helping people and in making a difference. Though those things are incredible, my focus and my priority were on the wrong thing.
because He really is after my heart.
In Luke 10:38-42 we read about the contrast between Mary and Martha. While Mary was sitting in the Lord’s presence, spending time with Jesus, “Martha was distracted by her many tasks” (v. 40). Frustrated that Mary was not helping, she complained to Jesus. He responded telling Martha that she is “worried and distracted by many things; there is need of only one thing” (v. 41). The one thing that Mary did was sit and listen to Jesus. And that is the one thing we are to do!
I have been reminded this week. Never in scripture do I recall Jesus calling people to a certain profession or task. And He does not do this, because I do not believe He cares. However He does care that we follow Him and that we become like Him. And ultimately what we do does not matter, because it will be in His will and overflowing it His goodness!
Team worship in the Center last week.
Often times I feel guilty or unworthy of selfish in receiving from the Lord. I think, ‘God, I am so blessed and I want others to be blessed’ so I proceed to focus on others and pray for others. Yet that leaves in me in a place of independence and pride because I am not receiving or depending on God for my own daily food. But in allowing God to be our Papa, to be the One to hold us, care of us and provide for us is absolutely beautiful! And it’s even more beautiful that that is what God intended from the beginning and continues to desire for us!

Adorable Behilda (who I mentioned in my last blog) Smart, Beautiful and important daughters of the King!
My view of these next 9 months has changed from trying to “save the world”. This thing called the World Race is about Him showing me His creation and how He longs and yearns for His children. And as my focus and priority is on Jesus alone, then, and only then will I be able to invest in people, help people and make a difference among the nations. And focusing on One Thing is much easier than multiple things and allowing Jesus to by my source actually is effective! Imagine that?!
