For months now the Lord has been speaking to me about Him being a shepherd. Honestly, it was getting frustrating how often it was brought up in prayer and quiet time. I didn’t understand what else He wanted me to take away from this passage. But now, I do. He is more than just a shepherd. As I am learning more about who He is, I am able to see just how much he truly loves me.
The Lord is my shepherd
He is the shepherd who surrendered his life for me-his sheep. He knows me and I know Him. I hear his voice and I follow.
He is my shepherd.
I lack nothing
He cares for the birds but I am far more valuable to him. He will supply all my needs.
He is my provider.
He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He guides me along the right paths for His name’s sake.
He has plans for me that give me a hope and a future. He will fulfill his purpose for me. In Him, I have peace. Not peace of the world for He has overcome the world. He himself is my peace.
He is my peace.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley
I have a constant battle occurring around me. My enemy, my adversary, the devil is a roaring lion but my advocate, my Father, my creator is all-powerful and mighty.
He is my creator, who is all-powerful and mighty.
I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
I do not have a spirit of fear but a spirit of power, love and self-control. My God is with me and He will never leave me. He is my refuge and my strength. His steadfast love is my promise.
He is God with me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies
I dine amongst my enemies but no weapon formed against me will prosper. I will consider it joy to face trials of all kind because I know it will produce steadfastness. I will lack in nothing. I will resist the devil and he will flee from me. If my God is for me, who can be against me? For his banner over me is love.
He is my banner.
You anoint my head with oil
He forgives my sins and heals me of my diseases. He was pierced for my sins and crushed for my inequities. The Spirit of God is upon me. I will bring the good news, proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners because the Lord has anointed me for such a time as this.
He is my healer.
My cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love with follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
I will draw near to Him and He will draw near to me. Greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world. For I am sure that there is nothing that will be able to separate me from the love of God. He is the first and the last. He is alpha and omega. Before the creation of the world, everlasting-to-everlasting, He is God.
He is everlasting.
He is my shepherd.
He is my provider.
He is my peace.
He is my creator, who is all-powerful and mighty.
He is God with me.
He is my banner.
He is my healer.
He is everlasting.
