I want to see more of God. Not the Western God that’s man-made, but the Biblical awesome one. The God of the Bible who’s stories leave me wondering in awe. Stories that are so unbelievable that I wouldn’t believe them myself if it weren’t for the hundreds of witnesses of each. I have asked to see God move in bigger ways during my last 4 months on the WR. Not that I haven’t seen God move in big ways on the WR, I have, but I want more. I want bigger! I want to see more of my Biblical big God do bigger things.
About two weeks ago I asked my new Team Leader Jamie if she would like to have a one-on-one. One-on-ones are pretty common on the WR, especially when you are on a new team like I am. They are a great way to learn a lot about an individual in a relatively short amount of time. After some great conversation about who we are, how we came to be on the WR and what God had been teaching us, I asked Jamie if she would pray for me. I specifically asked her to pray for God to provide the rest of the funds that I need to finish the WR and to see God move in the big ways I know he’s capable of.
As Jamie was praying I saw a picture in my head. It was of Jesus and he was clapping his hands together, rocking back & forth and he had a BIG smile on his face. He was obviously excited! Well, this got me excited too! What did it mean? I would have to wait till the next day to find out.
As of New Year’s Eve I still needed to raise $3,000 to be fully funded and I had no idea where that money would come from. So I logged on to check my support account and lo and behold over $1,500 in donations had come into my account in a mere 9 days! Including a $715 anonymous donation! Are you kidding me?! I almost fell out of my chair. The amount of money I need to raise was cut in half in barely over a week! Talk about God showing up in a BIG way, on the heels of me asking for that very thing no less. God really does “grant us the desires of our heart” like scripture says, if those desires please God. Well let me tell you my eyes have been opened wide and all I have to say is Lord…I see you!
UPDATE!!! Since I have little access to internet this month I haven’t had enough time to post this blog when I would have liked, but that’s okay. In the short time I was able to use the internet last Saturday I got to check my support account again and there I saw that God had provided another $700 in donations! That means God has blessed me with over $2,200 in financial support since the beginning of the New Year (18 days!). Holy moly, my God is holy, lol. I’m so grateful to God and those he is using to provide these funds in my life. I pray God rewards you more than you can ever imagine in return! I’m almost there friends. The end is in sight. I only have $750 left to raise till I am 100% funded. Praise him!
