“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Mathew 28:19

In the Bible the Lord commands those who follow him to be baptized in water. Jesus does not say that this is required for salvation but it is an act of obedience in faith. When Christ Himself walked the earth and began his ministry, He was baptized in water by John the Baptist.

Over my walk I have witnessed many baptisms and have gone through them myself as well but I have never performed one. I asked myself on the race, why haven’t I been given the opportunity to baptize someone in water yet. I have seen miracles performed by God, I have seen salvations performed by God, I have seen dreams given by God but I have not been given the opportunity to baptize in water.

This past weekend I received the answer. The reason that I have not baptized anyone was because the Lord wanted my sister and my mother to be the first in my life.

Over the past two years my sister and my mother have witnessed my walk and have been challenged not to compare their walks with mine. They have gone to there jobs where they are supposed to be right now but have been challenged by my walk. They at days have thought that they were not doing enough, or they couldn’t possibly do what I do. They received their answers from the living God, “Be who I created you to be”.

My mother and my sister have seen that all that they have to do in this walk is to be loved by the Most High King and walk where He puts them. They have decided to make that declaration to the world and say that they follow Jesus Christ.

As my sister and mother cleansed themselves of the old self and came up out of the water walking in the newness of life they saw themselves with the resurrected Christ.

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
