“You are a light to the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be
hidden.” Mathew 5:14

Our contact Herb comes to me before we are about to leave
and says that we can’t get the vans that we wanted so we are going to have to
take a flatbed to Murumbala. Herb said
that they do this all the time. As the
truck rolled up I began to pray and then laugh.

I circled the truck asking the Lord to bless our trip and to
send angels with us. I had complete
peace and made the decision to go. Our
plan was to go through the night to a city named Caia right on the shore of the
Zambeze River.
We would then camp at one of Iris ministries church’s for the remainder
of the night and then take the fairy across the Zambeze River
in the morning.

We were off and I just so happened to get a seat that was
directly down the middle of the flat bed on all of the luggage. It was the best seat in the house because I
could see everyone and lift the entire venture up in prayer.

I laughed as I looked at 24 people smashed onto a flatbed
truck with rope circling them all for a seatbelt. Surrounding us was miles and miles of green
plains and trees. The Africans call this
type of land “The Bush”. The bush
stretched for miles with smoke billowing from tribal huts as the sun descended
in the distance.

As the sun peaked over the horizon the starlit sky began to
shine. The temperature dropped about 20
degrees so the racers bundled up like a close knit family. I sat back and looked at where the Lord had
taken me. I was in the middle of Mozambique,
driving on a flatbed truck with 24 people, staring at the most amazing sky I
have ever seen, and was joining with God in one of the biggest movements in all
the world. I was at complete peace.

We had so much fun bundling as a family together and
although some might disagree I wouldn’t have changed it for the world.

We arrived in Murumbala to one of the most exhilarating
surprises of the trip. Over a couple
hundred children poured out into the streets with screams from every direction.
58 of these little ones are a part of
the orphanage in Murumbala who we will be working with.

We have settled into the neighboring World Visions property
and are preparing to head out for our ministry tomorrow. We have heard unbelievable stories as to what
God is doing in these ministries and are so thankful to be caught up in the
middle of it all.

God Bless.
