“I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and teaching…. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” 2nd Timothy 4:1-5
As training has come to a close I have been transformed into a man that I have only dreamed of. I have always known that God loves me but I never really grasped the concept. Andrew Shearman, who is my spiritual father (just as Paul was to Timothy), asked the question, “Why were you born?” The Christian answer would be to love God and love people. But that isn’t the main reason; we were born to be loved by God. He chose us first and He loves us beyond any love that we can even fathom.
Although some might be saying, well this is a very easy concept. Have you ever doubted Gods love towards you? I know that I have but what God spoke through Andrew this week has made me come alive. I have seen how much He wants me to be like Christ on earth and overflow the love that He has for me to every person that I come in contact with.
Coming into these revelations has been some of the most exhilarating experiences of my life. One might be able to top these though. I was sitting around speaking with Andrew and he said that the guys (Seth Barnes, Gary Black, Tom Davis, Andrew Shearman,) wanted to lay hands on me and commission me off.
Here is one that actually might make my parents and friends hit the floor. They didn’t just want to commission me off, they wanted to ordain me. When Andrew said it to me I kind of chuckled inside but he was completely serious.
At 7:00pm; after a powerful worship service; Andrew took center stage and went over what would be happening this evening. He said that three people were going to be getting ordained and commissioned. The first name out of his mouth was mine; I actually thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest.
The time had come and Andrew called me to the front of the room. I was completely taken by the spirit at this moment because of the company that was performing this service. I have definitely gone on a radical path but the Lord had put in front of me amazing men of God that have followed after him all of their lives. They have preached in front of tens of thousands, all have led successful worldwide ministries and all are 100% sold out for Jesus Christ. Tears welled up in my eyes as Andrew embraced me like a son.
Taking a moment to compose myself I truly realized what the Lord was calling me to. He was calling me to a true spiritual covering and a family that would do anything to make me the man that God has created me for. Andrew then began to read the scripture above as I stared deep into his eyes. Was this really happening to me?
As the men of God laid hands on me, I got down on my knees with my hands held high. I Chad Mast am officially an ordained pastor and under the covering of this apostolic team. As I type, I really feel as though this is a dream, but I know that this is the life that the Lord has called me to.
I want to thank my true Father in Heaven for putting the most amazing men of God into my life. I have prayed for mentors and He has answered in a way that I will be forever grateful. I love you guys and can’t wait to see what the future has in store.
