“Dream no small dreams for they have no power to move the hearts of men.”
-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe-
Last night, I had an interesting dream. I dreamt, I was was walking down the bar street, in Thailand, where my team and I do ministry. Next, I found myself in a dark grungy bar. As I was sitting in a booth with my team, I looked over to the back left corner and saw a man like demon sleeping in a chair with shackles around his neck, his wrist, and his ankles. This demon was about 7 feet tall, 400 pounds, bald, and had a skin color of a powdery white. The second time I looked over at the demon, he had awaken and realized that he was shackled and could not get up from the chair. He was yelling, growling, clinching his fist, kicking, stomping his feet, and was just trying everything he could to be set free. He sounded and looked as if he was being tormented.
The next day, I woke up a bit startled by the dream. I did not know what to make of it. I thought maybe my team was being attached or maybe something bad was going to happen, but I felt as if that was not quite what the dream meant. Later on that day, The Lord brought to memory this verse, “Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house. (Matthew 12:29 NIV). Then it hit me. The night before, I wrote a blog asking you all to intercede on the behalf of my team as we went out to do bar ministry (read the blog to get a better understanding). The demon that I saw in my dream was tied down with shackles because of all of your prayers.
As I mentioned in my last blog, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12). This verse could not be more true. Your prayers are so much more powerful then we may realize. If it was not for your prayers, my team and I would be going into the bars unprotected and unarmed. It would be a dangerous situation, and we would not be effective in our ministry.
I want thank all of you for going before us in prayer and binding the strongholds and principalities of these bars and in this nation. Prayer is crucial in advance the kingdom of God here on earth. Your prayers are binding the demonic forces and are allowing us to rescue these beloved people from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. So, once again, I urge you to pray without ceasing on all occasions (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.” (Colossians 4:2-4)
