"That which is striking and beautiful is not always good, but that which is good is always beautiful."

-N. de L'Enclos-

Have you ever looked down at your feet and wondered "what would my feet say if they could talk?" You probably have not, but I have. A person's feet can speak louder than words. A person's feet speaks of where they have been or have not been. Or what they have done or have not done. You are probably thinking that I am crazy, but hear me out.

Shoes alone can tell on a person. A person who wears tennis shoes is probably a runner or a person who exercises. A person who wears high heals is probably a business women who works in the office or out on the street corner. A person who wears no shoes is probably free spirited and care free. Despite what type of shoes a person wears or does not wear, their feet still tell the world the story of their life.

When I look down at my feet, I think what is the story of my feet going to tell the world? Are they going to say I have lived a comfortable secured life within the four walls that society has painted to be the American reality? Am I just going to be like everyone else working a 9-5 job and having 2.5 children? Am I going to let my worldview be shaped by the 10 o'clock news? Am I going to build up a life for myself that is going to rot and pass away? NO I AM NOT!

I want something more. Let me rephrase that… I am going after something more. My feet are going to tell a story of GREATNESS and of things I cannot even imagine. The Lord says in Habakkuk 1:5, "Look at the nations and watch – and be utterly AMAZED. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe even if you were told." My feet are standing firm on that promise. I am going into the nations proclaiming to the people that Jesus is Lord. I am honored to be a part of the work The Lord is doing in these nations.

I rather be hot, sweaty and uncomfortable as a missionary than live a mediocre life. I am investing into something eternal. And even if my feet may become dirty, blistered, and calloused from this road less traveled, Romans 10:15 says, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news."

What is the story of your feet going to tell the world?
