Here’s a quick look at what my past month in Cambodia looked like! We were blessed with a month of rest and lots of fun with the children and team…
Meet my new team! (Alyssa, Noah, Hannah, Me, Jake, Lucas)
Spent our first day as a team at the Cambodian Genocide Museum, It was really powerful and eye opening about the Khmer Rouge Genocide.
Our home for the month, the view from our front stairs
Amazing sunsets here in Cambodia, we spent many nights watching them and waiting for the stars to come out.
Where we slept, had to sleep in our tents because the bugs were really bad at night!
One of the first Sundays at church with the kids.
Only in Cambodia are you sitting at a coffee shop and a huge elephants comes walking down the street.
Spent some of our downtime riding our bikes through the rice fields.
And of course you had to take pictures in the middle of the beautiful fields and mountains. This is hannah, one of my sweet teammates.
Driving through our village.
Our way of transportation, the back of the blue truck. Good times.
The boys found a cool bridge, which quickly became a spot even pastor loved to go to.
Nothing like jumping off a bridge into sketchy water in Cambodia
A few of the girls had to make the jump of course too.
The dam also became a favorite place to go and cool off together.
Our last trip to the dam, pastor brought all of the kids to come swim also, it was amazing!
Meet some of the boys I got to spent this past month with; they were something that’s for sure ha (missing mike and lucas)
Our store across the street where we got gum, tea, and toilet paper… very convenient
THANKSGIVING!!
It was an amazing day that I got to spend with family I’ve made and some good fake American food.
We even got little concerts of old traditional Cambodian instruments on the side stairs sometimes.
Good old laundry in Cambodia, and our awesome blue truck.
Now some of the amazing people we spent this month with!
Our last day at the orphanage, after church. All of the children, church members, and team.
Pastor Kimeng and His wife Srey Bon, they were truly amazing, Godly people.
Nil and Timor, two kids I fell in love with and would have taken home with me in a heartbeat if I could.
Nil again, he was a ham in front of the camera.
Srey Nut
Timor again, she has such a beautiful smile.
Saven
A group of the sweet girls we hung out with.
Nang and Nil, love these two boys.
Nil again! Look at that sweet face.
Bonnht, such a funny little guy and a great soccer player even though he’s half the other kids size.
My girl Timor.
Nang, one of the feistiest, crazy little boys a the orphanage, but all he needed was some loving I was happy to give.
The month went by fast, but it was a time and place that changed my life and I could never forget.
Oh Cambodia.
