This month my team partnered with team Radiant Change, and we
are up in the beautiful mountains of Swaziland working at an orphanage named El
Shaddai. What’s cool about getting to
come serve here is that just two months ago we had 2 teams from U Squad here
serving. So it’s neat to get to hear the
kids talk about how much they miss people from our squad from when they were
here before. It reminds me that we do
make a difference everywhere we go. We
can choose to leave either a positive or a negative memory behind. I’m hoping that a positive one is always the
case.
This month we will be doing some manual labor around the
orphanage as well as some in the community.
We will be teaching devotions and leading church services for the children. We will be holding, loving, and playing with
tons of kids. And we will be helping out
our contact with anything that she needs – even if that means sorting receipts
to get her finances in order (yep that’s what I’ve been doing so far). With 15 of us here this month, we’re able to
split up and cover all the bases every day.
At this point in the Race, we’re all starting to feel the
effects of 8 months of travelling and pouring all we have into every
ministry. We’re tired. We’re cranky.
And we’re ready for a break. But
we only have 3 months left. 3 months
left to pour every ounce of us out into the rest of the world so that we can go
home completely empty, knowing that we gave it all. I believe that through our weakness, God will
use us in even mightier ways. Right now
our only choice is to rely on Him and His strength. Through that we will no longer do anything
out of our own power but will do everything out of the power of God. Now that we got ourselves out of the way, God
can do those huge God-sized things that only He can do. It’s time to heal the sick, raise the dead,
and love the brokenhearted. These last 3
months are going to be amazing! God is
going to do so much and teach us so much.
I am so excited that I’m already worn out so that I can really learn
what it means to rely on Him for all of my strength and all of my power.
