These last couple of days I’ve been teaching in a school for
Burmese refugee children. During my time
there I have experienced multiple moments that make every sleepless night,
every sickness, every long travel day, every moment spent in community, and every
spiritual attack worth it. It’s all
worth it to walk into a room full of eager faces yelling “Good morning
Teacha. It’s all worth it to walk into
a room of preschoolers that get up and excitedly rush to sit all around
you. It’s all worth it to have two sweet
little girls sing song after song about Jesus to you. It’s all worth it for my hands to be grabbed
as two little girls pull me with them and strategically place me so I can sit
in between them at lunch. It’s all worth
it to rock a little boy that may have just been a terror to sleep and see the
angel within him. It’s all worth it to
have kids run to cuddle with me on the floor at naptime. It’s all worth it to
have a sweet teenager think to bring us special drinks and cake from home. Moments like these I would not trade for
anything. Moments like these fill me
with an inexpressible joy and love.
Moments like these make every hard day I’ve already have or will have in
the future all ok. Thank you Jesus for
the innocence and love of children!
