I’m pretty sure this has been the best Valentine’s Day of my
life.  Not only am I celebrating it in
Cambodia with my beautiful Blue Sky girls and our awesome contacts, but I also
got to celebrate it with about 150 students throughout the day.

We began the day with some group exercise going for a run
down a couple dirt roads.  I really
enjoyed it since it had been about a week since I’d run.  It was wonderful!  Then we had devotion and breakfast followed
by doing our daily chores around the house.

At 11 we had our first class.  We had about 25 students from about 5 to 10
years old.  We taught them the Macarena
then taught them a short and sweet Valentine’s poem in English.  They then made cards for their parents or
whoever they wanted to give a Valentine to.
One little girl made me and Chelsea B. a Valentine.  It was so sweet.  She had me tell her how to spell beautiful so
she could write “Today you beautiful. Today I very excited.â€ inside of it.  It seriously melted my heart.  All the kids were so cute making their cards,
putting in tons of effort for the one they love.

After class, we had a delicious lunch with that our contacts
made for us.  Then we had a few hours of
down time.  It was nice to take a
Valentine’s Day nap 🙂

At 5, we usually have 3 classes and then 2 classes at 6, but
because it was Valentine’s they didn’t have the class at 6 and only had 2
classes at 5.  I helped in the younger
kids class at 5 with Chelsea B. again.
We did the Cupid Shuffle, the Macarena again, talked about English words
that are associated with Valentine’s day, taught them “You are my Sunshine,
and taught them a poem.  They didn’t seem
to get it as well as the class earlier in the day, but hopefully something
stuck and they could take something they learned home to their families for
Valentine’s Day.

During our night classes, Chelsea H. cooked us a special
Valentine’s Day dinner.  Oh my goodness,
best dinner ever.  Oh by the way Chelsea
is a chef.  We had chicken, pasta, fried
potatoes, cucumber-onion salad, and bread.
Wow it was absolutely delicious!! Thank you Jesus and Chelsea for making
such a delicious meal!  We’re pretty sure
God multiplied our food because we fed 8 people and the bowls never got any
emptier.  Eventually after we were all
stuffed, the food started to show signs of running out.  Mmmm.

After dinner we showered and relaxed and had some team
time.  So good to just hang out with my
girls.

Pretty much the best Valentine’s Day ever.
