Our last few days in Phuket were bittersweet.  Monday was our last time to go out to the
land.  I feel like we got a lot done in
the limited time we spent out there.  We
were able to help finish a set of stairs, start building another set of stairs,
de-weed and plant flowers along the fence line, dig up some bushes/stubborn
roots, build a bridge, and clear out tons of brush from an island.

Tuesday was our last night in Patong.  We mainly spent time saying goodbye to the
friends we had made.  Two new World Race
teams from S squad arrived early Tuesday morning and were able to go to Patong
with us Tuesday night.  It was great to
see them quickly adapting to this ministry and letting them meet some of the
friends we have made so hopefully relationships can continue.  I am glad to be done ministering in
Patong.  It was very emotionally and
spiritually draining for me.  But the
Lord reminded me that even though I’m not ministering there anymore, it’s still
happening.  So I’m praying that the Lord
will keep these girls in my heart and my mind so I can continue to pray for
them and intercede for the new teams that are going out.  It is also important that I separate myself
from this ministry so I can focus on the next one.  It’s a very delicate balance that I’m still
learning how to do.

Wednesday we got to spend time with Mark and the YWAM
Australian team that’s been staying here.
Mark took us to Chalong temples, lunch, and then the Big Buddha.  We went into these places in a state of
prayer.  We prayed that the people of
Phuket as well as all of Thailand would be broken of the stronghold of these
false gods.  At the Big Buddha, which is
up on this mountain and overlooks all of Phuket – holding some many people in
bondage, there is a beautiful view of Phuket and the ocean.  It’s crazy to know people look out at God’s
beautiful creation every day from there and don’t know Him or believe He
created it.  It’s also crazy to know
people are sitting there worshipping an idol that literally 10 feet away is
still being constructed.  You see Big
Buddha is not finished yet it’s not exactly what the people want it to be.  So there is still construction going on.  But people are still there worshipping a god
that they can watch be built by human hands.
It’s sad and my heart breaks for these people.  But I know my God is bigger than that Big
Buddha, and He can bring deliverance to the Thai people.

“For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or
on earth (as indeed there are many “gods and many “lords), yet for us there
is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and
there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through
whom we live. Acts 8:5-6

It’s hard to leave Thailand, but I know Cambodia will hold
great things!  We will be working with
the University of Nations Siem Reap teaching English.  I’ll let you know when I know more details
about our ministry there.  Keep us in
your prayers during our travels.  We will
most likely get to our new ministry location late February 5th or early morning February 6th.
