It all started in July of 2008 in Dearborn, Michigan, gathered around the front desk of Angel House, talking about the future of short term missions and dreams for the future.
That was when the words spilled out of my mouth.

I wanted to travel – around the world and across America – telling stories about what God is doing.
About the people He’s using.
I wanted to invite others to join in that work-
To make them aware of what is happening and be a part of God stirring them into action.
Does any of that sound familiar?

2010 was an opportunity to do that.
In November of 2009, when I was so still so far away from being fully funded, I asked God what this Race was supposed to look like for me-
What I was supposed to be doing (in hopes of being able to articulate it to help potential supporters catch the same vision).
He pointed me right back to 2008 and that conversation in Dearborn.
This is just a starting point, Cat.
The World Race is just the beginning.

Tanzania – a month full of chaos (malaria, break-ins, etc) – was the month where God started talking about the future again.
I didn’t really want to hear it.
I hadn’t given myself permission to think about what life would be like after the World Race.
But He started talking, and so I started listening (albeit reluctantly).

One thing I love (and happen to be good at) is writing.
One deep-seated desire of mine is to see people step out of their comfortable lives and start pursuing God, regardless of where it takes them and what the cost will be.
Even more so, to help them find the place they were destined to start at, and the information to get there.

The vision God has given me as far as my drop in the bucket is fairly simple to explain.
As I told my church family Wednesday night, the vision involves an internet magazine, a database, and a website design company.

The magazine will share stories from the mission fields both at home and internationally, regardless of group affiliation.

The database will give readers motivated to get out and do something a tool to find the group that is going to the places God has opened their hearts for and doing what He is calling them to do.
And the design company will help groups who either have a website that needs to be updated or no website at all to get their information on the internet-
Which will make finding them easier.

One of the poorest excuses I’ve ever heard for not going out when God calls is that people don’t know where to look online for someone who is going and doing what He’s put on their heart.
It’s time to take that excuse off the table, to put that information in the hands of those who are hesitant about their calling and see what they do with it.
And it’s time to bring the stories of what God is doing around the world together, to inspire our brothers and sisters to allow God to change their hearts the way mine has been.
