From the moment I drove into that grassy parking lot to the moment I drove away — impactful is the word to summarize how the 10 days of Training Camp affected me! 300 of us ready to take on all AIM had for us in preparation to officially becoming world racers. Ten days of porta potties, hand sanitizer as the only way to keep them clean, dirt that leaves a sparkle on everything, cold (but somewhat refreshing) bucket showers, sharing meals with groups of eight, different sleeping arrangements almost every night, amazing worship with 300+ voices crying out to God, getting to know my squad of 50 by living life with them in just 10 Intents 🙂 days, and so much more!
Seeking our identity in Christ…we are loved by God deeply! It started out with the personal relationship we each have with the Father – lots of overcoming and healing in our own lives – spending time in deep prayer and tears with each other. What it means to process pain and emotions. What it means to TRUST God! Do we know the Father? Recognizing why we are here, at this time in our lives, following the call the Lord placed in our hearts.
It is about community! So much of our time at training camp was spent exercising how to work as a team! We were put through field strategies, team scenarios, ‘what if’ moments, and crazy sleeping arrangements. Recognizing this is a journey not meant to be done alone. Being stretched beyond comfort – which brought the best (and sometimes worst) out of us. There was a bond made among the 51 of us in just 10 days that is somewhat of a launching pad for 11 months!
