I’ve had a heart for missions and ministry for as long as I can remember! I had a great opportunity to travel within the states with my family and use the gifts God gave us as a ministry through teaching the Word and worship. I have also had the amazing opportunity to travel to India three times within the last two years and it absolutely changed my life and my love for the nations grew even stronger!!!!
I heard about the race from a friend who went on it herself, I definitely feel it is time to go for it and God has opened the door for me to take what He has put in my heart to reach the lost, hurt, and dying. I thank Him for this time of my life that has been quite a transition but absolutely a growing time with my relationship with the Creator!
This is Me:
April 20, 1987 was the beginning of my life. I was named after my great grandmother on my mother’s side. Ever since I could talk I was speaking the Word. I had several bible verses memorized and although I don’t really remember, my parents told me the story of when one time my blanket was stuck under the door and right away I spoke the scripture Philippians 4:13, ‘I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me!”. At the age of four, I would go with my dad on the streets of Philly and as he would minister to the drunks, I would just start preaching to them and that they need to get saved!
In kindergarten, I brought a track to school and showed it to the other kids and told them about God. My teachers tried to stop me and would report what I was doing. I said the word hell one time at lunch explaining heaven and hell and the kids freaked out.
In my years of going to school, especially middle and high school, I would come home crying for my peers and their souls. I was persecuted a lot but I think more of it had to do with them rejecting and mocking God. It made me think more of what it says in the scripture John 15:30,… “If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you”. There have been times when I’ve moved away and students from the school I went to called or emailed me saying they remember who I was and the stand I always made and that it made an impact on their lives.
We are to be witnesses to those being lost. It’s most definitely a sacrifice but only temporarily and only for our flesh. Spiritually, it’s rewarding and brand new everyday living for Him. Wake up every morning prepared to live for Him and you won’t fail. He really does what He says – safe in the arms of our First True Love.
…the One who began a good work among you will keep it growing until it is completed on the Day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6
